Arcadia is the most sought-after neighborhood in the city of Phoenix. Arcadia is a new community in Scottsdale that combines urban living with a rural family atmosphere. It is less than 15 minutes from the airport and downtown Scottsdale, which is located near Tempe, AZ. It’s no surprise that Arcadia is one of the most gorgeous and popular neighborhoods in Phoenix, with its tree-lined avenues, abundant citrus groves, and some of the greatest dining and shopping the Valley has to offer. The mature green landscapes of the irrigated Arcadia lots, along with broad streets, are not found in many other parts of the city, including the surrounding neighborhoods. Arcadia is a family-friendly community that is minutes from some of the greatest shopping and dining in the area, as well as schools in the award-winning Scottsdale school district.

44th Street runs from north to south, while Camelback Road runs from east to west, and the canal runs through it. Arcadia is comprised of well-kept homes on spacious lots, with property values that are rather high compared to the surrounding areas (as the neighborhood is adjacent to the upscale suburbs of Paradise Valley, the Biltmore area, Scottsdale and north Phoenix). Arcadia, which was built on the site of a former citrus grove, is recognized for its well-irrigated, mature landscaping. There are some yards that are visibly planted with orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees as a reminder of the area’s past; the area was formerly occupied by citrus farmers from 1919 to the mid-1950s.

During the 1950s, the rest of Phoenix caught up with the farms and the area became suburbanized, with ranch-style homes on big lots becoming the norm. Arcadia High School is located in the neighborhood and takes its name from the area. Arcadia has consistently ranked as the best place to live in the entire Phoenix metro area, owing to its convenient location for both work and play, bustling food and culture, walkability, and lush natural surroundings. It is also conveniently located south of popular hiking spots such as Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak. A large portion of Phoenix’s cycling community passes through this neighborhood, as Campbell / Lafayette is one of the city’s most important bicycle routes.

At the intersection of 44th Street and Camelback Road, Arcadia is also the site of the Verizon 5G Performance Center, the Phoenix Suns’ newest practice facility, which opened in late 2017. Initial discussions about it began in December 2018, with final details being agreed upon in early 2019. In exchange for extending their arena lease until 2037, the team will construct a new practice facility in Arcadia and assist in the renovation of the present Phoenix Suns Arena (with an option to later extend it until 2042). The Suns’ Performance Center was finally finished in November 2020, just one month before the team’s 2020–21 season began on November 1.
